You'll only get "sharp" results at the more open stops if you software adjust, or if you only take images that are close the further you move away from a subject and the more you stop relying on software to image enhance, then the softer F2.8 and F4 and even F5.6 become. Indeed, they are beautifully sharp in the centre 80% at F8 and F11, but below that - and the closer you get to F2.8 - the softer the edging and the centre become. Even on digital cameras that have onboard in-built digital software adjustments, they share the same outcomes.įirstly, they are not "sharp" or "tack sharp" as some people like to say in generalised statement.
